Light Pushing Away the Dark

Yesterday was the winter solstice, which means the days will start getting longer and more light is in our future. And at this time of year, I often pause amid my holiday prep to think about the metaphor this creates.

In the midst of the dark, in the midst of depression, it can seem like the light will never come again. We know. We get it. Yet the cycles of the days and the cycles of the seasons remind us that the light does eventually push away the dark. And we can hold tight to the truth that when darkness surrounds us, the light will come again.

Yet we also understand that sometimes you need someone to help you see the light that is coming. We’ve had others who’ve helped us do that and that is what we are here to help you with. Mental health challenges in the legal profession are all too common. But they don’t have to be faced alone. We’ve been there too and we can help. We can help the light push away the dark.

This is our last post for 2023, but know that we will be there in 2024 to help you find your light if you are struggling.
