Raising the Bar Support Groups

We’ve talked in the past about the value that support groups can offer. And that is why we are starting our own support group for lawyers, judges, law students, and other members of the legal community who might be living with mental illness. It is called the Raising the Bar Support Group because raising the bar is exactly what we need to be doing when it comes to how we treat mental illness within the legal community.

Too often, mental health concerns in the legal profession are swept under the rug. Too often lawyers, judges, and law students are afraid to talk about their struggles. I should know, I was one of those law students and I became one of those lawyers before stepping away from Corporate America and the legal profession to instead focus on peer support for others who live with mental illness.

We originally announced that the first meeting of the Raising the Bar Support Group would be Tuesday March 29th at 7 pm, but due to a scheduling conflict, we are bumping that up a week. It will now be Tuesday March 22nd at 7 pm central time via zoom and if you are a member of the legal community struggling with mental health concerns, we hope to see you there.
