What Now?

This week was election day in the United States. Now, the results are (mostly) all in. At the top of the ballot, we now know that President Trump will return to the Oval Office in January of 2025. First and foremost, The LegalMind Society is apolitical. These results do not change our mission of reducing the stigma faced by legal professionals living with mental health challenges while also providing support to legal professionals in need.

However, these results brought out powerful reactions across the country. Some might be celebrating this week, while others might be concerned and uncertain about what the future holds. Whatever you are feeling, those feelings are valid. If you are struggling with those emotions, know that you are not alone and we are available to support you.

Yet beyond support, many might be asking about what happens now. Regardless of what the results were, there were potentially serious questions about what it means for the future.

What happens now is we work on accepting results that we cannot change. We know from our lived experience that it can be hard to move beyond the past, particularly if the results of this week were a cause of concern. If that is something you are struggling with, support is available. Moreover, finding a way to put your feelings into action can help. Whether it is finding new Pro Bono opportunities, volunteering for future elections, or running for office yourself, know that there are options out there for you to turn your emotions into actions.

And finally, this election has included a lot of negativity from both sides. Know that you matter, no matter what anyone says, no matter what any politician tries to do, and no matter what the future brings. You matter. Help is available. And none of that will change.
