Employee Wellness Month
In addition to being Men’s Mental Health Month, June is also Employee Wellness Month. That means that this month can be an opportunity for firms and other legal employers to step up their game when it comes to the wellness of their partners, associates, clerks, and other legal professionals.
Whether done in response to employee wellness month or not, the simple fact is we need a change in culture in the legal profession. While we all share some responsibility for this culture change, those at the top have a particular duty to protect the wellness of those who work for them.
Work, and the lack of a work-life balance are often key sources of stress across the board, but particularly for legal professionals. Legal professionals are not just cogs in our system of laws, they are people first and we need to recognize and protect that.
